George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He defeated Al Gore in a hotly contested and controversial presidential election. The defining moment of his presidency was September 11th, 2001, when the United States was hit by terrorist action within its borders. Terrorist flew planes into the World Trade Towers in New York, demolishing them.

George W. Bush’s father, George H. W. Bush, was the 41st president of the United States. George H. W. Bush was Ronald Reagan’s vice-president before becoming president. He and Dan Quayle, his running mate, defeated Michael Dukakis, the former governor of Massachusetts.

George H. W. Bush's greatest accomplishment was the war called Desert Storm. After Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, Bush and the United Nations, freed Kuwait in a very short war. George H. W. Bush lost his reelection bid to Bill Clinton.
